First Meeting is August 28th

Classes begin Monday, August 24th, and our first meeting for the semester will be on Friday, August 28th. The meeting will be held inside the Glass Lounge (Room C125 -- near the Student Activities Office) from 12PM to 1PM. Remember, anyone is welcomed, so don't be afraid to bring along some friends ;)

The Blog is changing...

The Blog is changing to The Newsreel. Soon, the only place you'll need to go to see all Latino Alliance announcements will be right here. You don't need to click anywhere else! If you need to see our calendar, photos, and video, those links are still to your right ;)

Another Year. Another Success.

Once again, our club ended the year incredibly. We established new standards, broke old barriers, and cultivated a brand new group of student leaders.

We'd like to thank all Latino Alliance members as well as all faculty, administrators, staff, sponsors, and third parties who worked to make all of our events possible and successful. Latino Alliance exists only because of the time and dedication these people put into all of its projects.

Now, drumroll please... This year's scholarship recipients are:

WILLIAM VARGAS SCHOLARSHIP '09

1. Maria Cristina Sanchez (Degree: Criminal Justice)

2. Carlos Villeda (Degree: Mechanical Engineering)

ALICIA HERNANDEZ SCHOLARSHIP '09 for $1,000

1. Edgar Nieto (Mundelein High School Graduate)

2. Sandra Silva (Business Management)

Thanks again! See you this fall.

Latino Alliance is Club of the Year!

During last night's Student Activities Banquet, the club was awarded the Club of the Year award for outstanding performance during the '08-'09 school year, for "making the college body participate of [our] many educational events," and for "increasing [our] presence on campus."

The club is highly honored to be recognized through this award, as should every member who participated throughout the year. Latino Alliance cannot be without its outstanding members.

Thank you for making Latino Alliance Club of the Year!
